What to look for in a good ceiling mount bracket
- Check the load rating. A real bracket lists a tested weight capacity in pounds, often stamped on the part itself, not just printed on the box.
- Steel gauge matters. Solid brackets use cold-rolled steel at least 1/8 inch thick; the cheap ones flex when you torque the bolts because the metal is thinner and softer.
- Hardware included. Look for lag bolts or toggle anchors rated for ceiling joists in the box, not generic drywall screws that pull out under weight.
