Fluorescent bulbs from US brands and US-based sellers

8 US brands and sellers surfaced here at $11.74 to $140.00, each verified from Amazon's own published seller info. Last verified August 21, 2026.

A fluorescent bulb lives or dies by its phosphor coating and the quality of the glass and end caps around it. The cheap versions skimp on both, so they look fine in the package and then flicker, buzz, or fade weeks after install.

What to look for in a good fluorescent bulb

  • Phosphor coating thickness. A thin or uneven phosphor layer makes light skew green or pink after a few hundred hours, so check the CRI number on the packaging and be wary if it is missing entirely.
  • Pin and base fit. Loose or slightly bent pins mean intermittent contact with the ballast, which shows up as flickering or a bulb that won't start on the first try.
  • Lumen maintenance over time. Look for a stated lumen depreciation figure at 40% of rated life; bulbs that don't publish one usually dim fast and unevenly along the tube.
  • Price as a signal. Trustworthy sellers in this category run about $12 to $140 depending on wattage and tube length, and anything priced well under that floor is cutting corners somewhere in the glass or coating you can't see until it's lit.
