What to look for in a good novelty sunglasses
- Lens clarity. Hold the lenses up to a straight line, like a doorframe or window edge, cheap lenses bend it visibly while a decent pair keeps the line straight.
- Hinge construction. Look for a small metal screw or rivet at the hinge, glued plastic hinges are the first thing to snap after a few folds.
- Paint and coating. Rub a thumb hard across any printed pattern, mirrored coating, or logo on the frame, cheap paint flakes off in days while dyed-in plastic or a proper coating won't budge.
