What to look for in a good fairy lights
- Wire gauge and coating. Run your fingers down the strand, quality wire feels springy and evenly coated, while cheap wire is thin, stiff, and dents if you pinch it.
- Bulb solder joints. Look closely at where each bulb meets the wire, a clean joint is smooth and covered, a bad one shows a raw solder blob or bare copper that will corrode.
